Collective Psychology Seminar - Advanced seminar on the psychology of groups and intragroup dynamics. Major graded component of the course is a written project where students pick a real-world group issue to solve and use research from the class to develop an intervention plan.
Introduction to Psychological Statistics - One of the core major courses at Pomona, introduction to using statistics for psychological research. Features a pseudo-flipped format (interactive readings -> lecture -> lab exercises). The course is taught using R scripting as the method of doing statistics and focuses on the general linear model framework. The interactive readings are a collection of “textbook chapters” implemented through Google Colab notebooks - access those readings here. Major graded components of the course are lab activities and a final analysis project with open psychology data from prior publications.
